Oh Why Can't You Behave....

I guess I wasn't horrid today.  I worked from home and I hit the gym today.  I'm getting there.  I have some strategies I want to put into play.  We'll see how they work.  It's not just weight, I need to get a lot of things heading in the right direction - my house, other things related to health besides weight etc.  Just taking care of me. 

Anyways, its getting ready to get icky here with electrical storms so I'm signing off soon so doing this now -

Food today:
Glass of milk with chocolate syrup
1 serving instant grits with 1/2 T butter
1 cup cream of asparagus soup (home made - I never gave recipe for this will be below) with 2 slices sourdough rye bread with 1/2 T butter
2 slices toasted sourdough rye bread with1/2 T butter and homemade fig preserves
1/2 a roast beef poboy from Dagwood's sandwich shop and 1 bag voodoo potato chips
1 ice cream cone with 1 scoop chocolate custard and 1 scoop vanilla.
I think in an hour I"ll have a veggie juice of 1 apple, 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks and 1/3 a large english cucumber

Gym today
brisk 2 mile walk and my weights that I normally do

asparagus soup
cook fresh asparagus in boiling water for 10 minutes
meanwhile make a roux of 1-2 T flour with 1-2 T butter.  Add 1-2 cups chicken broth (depending on how many asparagus you have) and about 1 cup of the asparagus water.  take the asparagus and some water and puree - add puree to your roux mixture.  When heated through add about 1 cup half and half or less to taste.  Add asparagus water or chicken broth to your desired thickness and season with salt and pepper to taste.
You can also add some sauteed onion adn garlic - you'll need to puree it with the asparagus.
